Despite living in the age of modern tech, old school techniques are sometimes the best way to go. In this regard, fax machines are still used by millions of people the world over to communicate and share information.
However, not everyone has easy (or cheap) access to these devices. If that includes you, don’t worry – we’ve got you covered.
In this article, you’ll find all the best ways to find access to this service cheaply and efficiently, no matter where you are.
Fax Services Near Me: UPS, FedEx, and Other Delivery Services Stores
One of the first ports of call to find cheap fax services: your local delivery service. FedEx and UPS both offer fax services to their customers, and at a price that won’t break the bank.
You can check out UPS services here: https://www.theupsstore.com/store-services/faxin
For FedEx, check here: http://www.fedex.com/us/office/in-store-services.html
Expect to pay around $1-$2 per fax page for either sending or receiving, with prices being cheaper for local faxes and more expensive for long distance numbers.
Public Fax Machines: Hotels, Hostels, and Travel Agent Offices
Finding easy access to a fax machine while on the move can be difficult. Sometimes, you’re nowhere near a FedEx or other delivery service that could help.
Never fear, however. If you’re staying hotels, hostels or are near a travel agent, most of these places have accounted for this need of the busy traveler working on the move.
A variety of services are typically available. A number of hotels include fax services for free, while others may charge a small
fee. Hostels offer this service less often, but there’s still a good chance.
If that doesn’t work out, there’s almost always a travel agent nearby who can assist you instead.
Where Can I Go To Fax Something: Local Office Supply Stores
Local office supply stores are another great way to get a hold of cheap and easy fax services. Places like Office Depot or Staples usually allow customers to come in and use fax machines as they need.
Again, you can expect to pay in the regions of $1-$2 per page for these services. If you’re out of the other options, this is certainly a good route to go.
Send A Fax Using Software Already That’s On Your Computer
If you didn’t know already, you can actually send faxes using software already on your computer! Pretty neat, right?
To do this, you only need a couple things: a computer operating on either Windows XP,7,8 or 10 or a Mac operating on Mac OS X. Along with this, your computer will also have to be connected to a telephone line.
Each method has a different set of steps. Here’s the set-up for each.
Connect your computer to a telephone line

For Windows 7 OS, click Start, go to All Programs and then click Windows Fax and Scan. For Windows 8 and 10, simply type Windows Fax into the search bar and click Enter
In the upper left corner of the toolbar, you’ll see New Fax – click that. Next, follow the wizard’s steps to set up your

Faxing From Your Mobile Device
Amazingly, you can even send faxes via your mobile device! Again, this process differs slightly from phone to phone. If you’re an Android or iPhone user, here’s how you can do it.
A number of apps are available here. I’ve included below some info of the best ones.
CamScanner – Very useful productivity app that also incorporates faxing. With over 30 countries available to fax to, you won’t have to worry about usability with this app.

How to Fax Articles
In this modern age, it’s easy for certain skills of the past to be left behind, or even forgotten about entirely. So, for those unfamiliar, here’s a brief “how-to” for actually using a fax machine.
Place the document you’re sending into the feeder (there will be an icon showing which way is “face up”)
Enter the number you wish to send the document to (accounting for area/international codes)
Press Send. Yes, it’s that easy.
Now the fax machine will scan the document completely to send it
Once this is done, take your original document (and any other pages) out the other side, and you’re done!
Hopefully, this guide has been a small help to those seeking fax machine help. To those using it, I wish you the best of luck!
